Patient Care Coordinator

Vanessa became a valued member of The Clinic for Oral Health team in September 2017. She joined as a registered dental assistant shortly after graduating from Lake Area Technical College. She has since expanded her professional expertise through additional studies in dental insurance and claims processing. Vanessa takes great pride in supporting patients with their treatment planning and scheduling, while also fostering meaningful relationships built on trust and care.

Her years of experience assisting Dr. Schmidt have equipped her with the knowledge and insight to effectively answer patient inquiries and coordinate seamless appointment schedules. Patients are quick to recognize and appreciate Vanessa’s warm, welcoming presence, compassionate nature, and radiant smile.

Vanessa joined The Clinic for Oral Health team as a registered dental assistant in September 2017 following graduation from Lake Area Technical College. She then furthered her education with studies in dental insurance and claims processing. Vanessa enjoys being able to assist patients with their treatment plans, scheduling, and building a relationship with each patient. Her previous years assisting Dr. Schmidt make it very easy for Vanessa to answer questions that a patient may have and schedule the necessary flow of appointments. When meeting with Vanessa, patients quickly appreciate her warm, welcoming and compassionate demeanor topped with a beautiful smile. Vanessa lives in Wahpeton with her husband, Luke, and their son, Bentley. Her family enjoys spending time traveling, attending concerts, and sharing quality time with friends and family.

Chloe, AASDH, RDA/CDA

Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant

Chloe joined The Clinic for Oral Health in 2016, bringing her expertise to both dental hygiene and dental assisting roles. She now serves as a full-time dental hygienist, contributing her energy and enthusiasm to the team. Known for her meticulous approach, Chloe is dedicated to creating personalized home care routines and providing comprehensive oral health education tailored to each patient’s needs.

When asked what she values most about her profession, Chloe shares that it is the opportunity to build relationships with patients, educate them about proper oral health, and witness the positive outcomes of her guidance. Her passion is deeply rooted in patient care: “It’s always a great feeling when a patient returns and you can see improvements in their oral health as a result of what you’ve taught them.”

Chloe joined The Clinic for Oral Health in 2016 in both the dental hygiene & dental assisting roles. She is now providing full time hygiene services as her primary role and is an overall energetic part of the team. Chloe is very thorough in developing an individualized home care regimen & the necessary education for each patient. If you ask Chloe what her favorite part about her career is. she states it is getting to know the patients, educating them about good oral health, and then seeing that they understood what was demonstrated to them. Chloe’s passion for her career is driven by her patients. ‘It is always a great feeling when you have a patient come back and you see improvements in their oral health from what you have taught them.’ Chloe was born and raised in Breckenridge, MN which is where she lives with her husband, David, and their sons Briar and Bowen. In her free time, her family enjoys being at the farm, hanging out with family and friends, being at the lake, and traveling.

Liza, RDH, AASDH

Dental Hygienist

Liza graduated from NDSCS with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2016, She came to practice with Dr. Schmidt in 2018. Liza thoroughly enjoys getting to know all of her patients through a caring and comprehensive approach to their dental health. By knowing and understanding her patients needs, she can better recommend and care for each and every one of her patients. She especially loves seeing kids and helping them have a great experience at the dental office.

Liza joined The Clinic for Oral Health in 2018 as a dental hygienist. Liza graduated in 2016 from North Dakota State College of Science with her degree and worked in Watertown, SD as a dental hygienist for two years prior to joining our team.

Liza is a very dedicated provider who greets each patient with her warm welcome and bright smile. She enjoys the profession of dental hygiene because of the opportunity it gives her to meet people, assist them with their oral health, educate them, and make an impact on their daily lives. Liza really enjoys getting to know her patients so she can help them attain their oral health goals. She grew up in rural Fairmount where she and her husband, Levi, enjoy training horses, participating in rodeos, and in cowboy mounted shooting as their hobbies. Together, they have 5 horses and a puppy who enjoys traveling with them to weekend events.

Alexis, RDA

Dental Assistant

Alexis joined The Clinic for Oral Health as a Dental Assistant in July of 2019 after obtaining her degree from North Dakota State College of Science in July of 2018. Alexis’s favorite part about her career is that she gets to assist in the enhancement of a patient’s health while creating smiles that boost their confidence and self-esteem. Alexis is a very dedicated team member who prides herself on being well prepared for each patient’s arrival.

In her role as a dental assistant and overall great team member, she continually increases her knowledge so she can educate each patient regarding their home care following treatment. She meets you with her gentle demeanor and pleasant smile. 

Stephanie, BSDH, RDA/CDA

Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant

Stephanie joined our team in November 2021 with 13 years of previous experience. She graduated from NDSCS for dental assisting in 2006 and then for dental hygiene in 2008. In 2020, she graduated from University of Minnesota Mankato with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene. Stephanie enjoys patient education and patient care.

Stephanie enjoys education. She graduated from NDSCS for dental assisting in 2006 and then for dental hygiene in2008. She was not finished. She pursued her Bachelors degree in dental hygiene and achieved that degree in 2020. Stephanie enjoys reviewing recent research to educate her patient’s with the best and latest recommendations for their individual oral health condition. ‘I love feeling I am making a difference in their lives.’ Stephanie enjoys treating her patients as friends or family to establish wonderful relationships over the years. Stephanie grew up in Campbell, MN and currently resides in Wahpeton with her husband, Cody, and their adorable daughters, Hattie and Scarlett. Their household has the added busyness of 3 dogs and 1 cat. She commuted to Fargo for 13 years as she worked in one practice there over that time. In November 2021, our clinic and patients were fortunate to have Stephanie join us in providing individualized, well educated hygiene treatment right here in Wahpeton. She is excited to be working right here in Wahpeton which allows her to be closer to her family and more present in their lives. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, reading, doing puzzles, and anything artsy. We welcome Stephanie to our team!

Courtney

Front Desk Associate

Courtney grew up in Fergus Falls, MN and graduated from Jamestown College in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Theatre. Since then, she has worked in a variety of roles in education, administrative/office management, and customer service.

Along the way, she discovered that being the first point of contact in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment is where she truly thrives. Courtney is excited to be part of The Clinic for Oral Health team—meeting all the smiling faces that walk through the door and supporting both patients and staff. She has embraced the world of dentistry with enthusiasm and a desire to grow as a professional.
